Clerk Karen advises us that there will be a Meeting for Worship with Attention to Business on Sunday, July 2, following our usual Meeting for Worship. The agenda is filling up, so consult with her soon if you wish to recommend a matter for discussion. Bob will briefly report on the recent Yearly Meeting. Depending upon the length of the MWAB, the planned discussion among committee clerks and reps may be moved to the following Sunday.
Local Food Needs
Anne reported the current needs for food donations at the Swannanoa Valley Christian Ministry. You can bring these items to their building on 101 N. Ridgeway Avenue, Black Mountain, NC, or leave them in the entry hall of the Meetinghouse. Items suggested by the Ministry include: Canned green beans, corn, pork and beans, red kidney beans, and pinto beans. Our neighbors also need sugar, all-purpose flour, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and shampoo.
ALSO: Crayton shared news of the continued food needs of a local Latino family that some in the Meeting have assisted. Imelda, the mother of that family, is going through a long recovery from brain surgery, and friends have provided food assistance through a website called MealTrain. You may visit Imelda’s page at: https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/0n8wg9. They are now home so the delivery address for food is their mobile home at 24 Peridot Point, a road that turns off Tabernacle Rd in Black Mountain just about opposite the road that goes to Highland Farms off Tabernacle. Imelda’s is the mobile home with a red roof. Crayton recommends food for a family of 6.

If you are not available for those dates, please let them know of your interest in future workdays.
