Evie Hultberg reminded us that she will share a film on the Indian Boarding Schools called “Our spirits do not speak English” on Friday, March 24, in preparation for the April 21 and 22 Mark Charles workshop on the Doctrine of Discovery and ethnic injustice. Maggie Moon O’Neill announced that she will lead the next session of Sacred Circle Dance, at the Friends Meetinghouse, on Tuesday, February 28, from 7 to 8:30 PM. Maggie suggests that folks will “experience feelings of peace and deep relaxation as a result of the dances.” A suggested modest donation for the session will be passed on to worthy nonprofit organization. Bob Welsh and James Hyde invited representatives of local faith communities to a workshop for enabling us to understand the impact of dementia and to embrace our neighbors with dementia to live fully. The workshop will occur on Thursday, March 23, 9 to 11 AM, at the Swannanoa Valley Friends Meetinghouse in Black Mountain. Sheridan Hill explained that the Grief and Praise Circle, that she leads, will continue to meet on first Tuesdays at her home instead of the Meetinghouse.
