Please hold in the light a young Guatemalan man who is an 18 year old refugee with a 2 month child who is in custody by immigration authorities, facing deportation. Cards requesting help from a congressman in Hendersonville were passed out. Susan will deliver them.
David Lamotte’s concert, on Saturday in Black Mountain, was a delight and celebrated his successful Kickstarter fundraiser for publishing his new CD, “The Other Way Around”. The new album reflects his work and meditations for the past ten years, and the Light overcomes the Darkness through his songs.
James Hyde is on a community steering committee to lead area residents to become more sensitive and caring toward those with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. He will ask us to complete a survey about the issue. He will schedule a forum at the Meetinghouse to explore ways we can become more supportive of those afflicted, including just being present for them.
Friend Laurel shared her joy for the advancement of her two sons – one from graduate school and one from middle school – and for the emerging prospect of her developing a rural property as a gathering place for Friends.
